Why a fansite guide to Darien Lake?
UPDATE: 10/19/2008
2008 season is over.
Thanks to Darien Lake , PARC and all of the employees for giving us another great season of fun.
Every trip was fun. With great rides, really good food and a friendly, helpful staff.
The maintenance staff in particular went above and beyond to keep rides running to their best. I saw maintenance"baby sit" Ride of Steel in the rain to keep it's down time low. Predator was worked on all season and it was running much smoother during our last visit in October. During the opening weekend of 2008 Motocoaster was tweaked almost all night to get it ready for opening day.
During our 1st trip, opening weekend, we wanted something to eat, but it was right as Laserblast was starting. The staff at Beaver Brothers got us a hot dog. I know it's just a hot dog, but they did not have to do this. They had just closed. Every time something was needed this season the staff went the extra mile to help.
No, everything was not perfect all year. But when the staff could help, they did.
This is something that you will not see at most other parks. Trust me, I go to many parks and the crew at Darien Lake are by far the most helpful.
The park was looking particularly good this season. Well landscaped and clean.
It is not easy to keep a park clean, Darien Lake's crew does a great job.
This was an enjoyable season that I wish did not have to end so soon. But May 9th will be here soon and another season will be started. We've got our season pass vouchers and reservations for opening weekend at the Hotel.
In the next few weeks I'll post more about our last trips. New videos and photos.
And I'm working on a new look for this web site. So check back often.
You will be able to get your 2009 season passes at the GoDarienlake web site.
From the Buffalo Business First web site.
The Buffalo Bills have struck a new partnership deal with Darien Lake Theme Park Resort.
The organizations are teaming up to offer Bills' fans a chance to win a 2009 "family four pack" of season passes for the popular Genesee County theme park. During each home game at Ralph Wilson Stadium this year, the Bills' mascot, Billy Buffalo, will sign the Darien Lake ad in the Bills' "GameDay Digest" magazine. The fan with the autographed program will win the passes.
As part of the deal, Darien Lake will receive increases in its Bills-related Internet, television and print advertising vehicles.
"It is truly an awesome opportunity for both organizations and a great opportunity for Darien Lake to be a part of the Buffalo Bills tradition," said Chris Thorpe, Darien Lake general manager.
Discovery Channels American Chopper showed the Darien Lake chopper episode June 26th. at 9pm. See the creation of Darien Lakes chopper and view it in person at Darien Lake.
