   Hotel and Campgrounds

    Updated 7/11/2008

We stayed at an RV over opening weekend 2008. I really enjoyed the experience, and it had some great benefits. We stayed in the RV closest to the General Store. That was also, by coincidence, the closest to the queue line for Motocoaster. We got to be on the first train open to the public on Motocoaster.

The RV's are bigger than they look but hard to photograph on the inside.

As you can see for the photo above, I had to use panorama to get a decent view of the inside. Check out the Video page, I have posted a small tour of the RV that we stayed in.

It is really nice to have a full size refridgerator, and a stove. The heat and air conditioning work great. It was rainy and windy for some of our stay and the heater warmed the RV up fast. Some Rv's have a microwave, ours did not. Be sure to ask for what you want when you make your reservation.

I will be updating this further by May 16th, so check back.

                     Hotel and General Information

This is the "back" view of the Hotel. Taken from the path leads to the park.

When staying at the Hotel or Campgrounds you use a separate entrance from the main parking entrance. If coming in from the north, ( NY State Thruway ), the Hotel and Campground entrance is right before the main parking lot on your left. There is a gatehouse that will take your reservation information and let you in. If your name is not on their list, then you will need your reservation information, so have your reservations handy just in case. They do this to control access to the Hotel and Campgrounds. Security is very good. Remember if you plan to arrive before check in time you can still use the park until your room or site is ready. On the day of your check out you can also check out and still use the park all day .

Remember: the park entrance fee is included in the room / site cost.
You pay for the room or campsite and you get into the park at no extra cost. Season pass holders get a discount off of the room / site rate.
You'd be surprised at how many people don't believe me when I tell them that.

Check in at the Hotel is fast and I have always found the staff friendly. Standard rooms are like most other hotels. 2 Beds, TV, refrigerator, but no coffee maker. The rooms are clean, large and comfortable. There are 2 suites available and 160 total rooms in the Hotel.

Food at the hotel is quite good. Reasonably priced, especially for a theme park. There are snack machines located off of the hallways offering snacks and sodas. The campgrounds has a general store that has just about everything.
